Founded in 2004 and headed by Patrick Bornhauser, BPM Group distributes 30 vehicle brands in France and abroad through 113 outlets. The group has more than 2,000 employees and annual sales of €1.2 billion.
The group was looking to continue its growth and strengthen its presence in the Aquitaine region by acquiring 4 Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Bègles, La Teste-de-Buch and Mérignac, which together generate sales of €96 million. BPM Group therefore sought authorisation from the Autorité de la Concurrence to carry out this transaction.
In a decision dated 3 October 2023, the Autorité de la Concurrence (French competition authority) authorised the acquisition of sole control of Mercedes Benz Bordeaux by BPM Group.
BPM Group, which has been a Mercedes-Benz partner since the company was founded, has thus strengthened its representation of the German brand, which was already present in 34 of its dealerships.
A team from the law firm Cornet Vincent Ségurel, comprising partner Amélie Poulain and associate Caroline Bellone-Closset, assisted BPM Group in notifying the French Competition Authority and obtaining authorisation.
