Active in professional, technical and architectural lighting, IDELUM and EDE - Européenne d'Eclairage have just been taken over by two new owners: Gaëlle de Candole and Frédéric Degroote.

IDELUM and Européenne d'Éclairage were previously owned by Patrick and Jean-Luc Dechaume. These two companies, which design and distribute lighting solutions and products for professionals, have just been taken over by two new managers, Gaëlle de Candole and Frédéric Degroote, supported by Mermoz Participations and Bpifrance financement.

Financing for the deal was raised from Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes and Banque Populaire Auvergne Rhône Alpes.

Founded in 2004, IDELUM stands out by specialising in technical and architectural lighting, and by targeting professionals, be they specifiers, installers or specialist distributors. The Lyon-based company offers lighting solutions for the various spaces in and around buildings. Européenne d'Éclairage is a regional company on a human scale, based in Le Mans and Tours. With 26 years' experience in technical and architectural lighting, Européenne d'éclairage offers a range of innovative luminaires.

Thanks to its expansion with the takeover of the EDE - Européenne d'Éclairage group, the ten-strong group has seen its turnover increase to around €5m.
