Jérémie COURTOIS

Jérémie is a Director and head of the Lille Intellectual Property-Tech-Data team at the law firm Cornet Vincent Segurel.

He leads the team responsible for intangible assets, intellectual property, and technology matters at the Lille office.

After working in several legal departments for media and communications companies, Jérémie joined Cornet Vincent Segurel in 2011.

Jérémie supports the firm’s clients in their business activities and projects related to intangible assets, information systems and information and communication technologies, intellectual property, communications, and data, particularly personal data. His expertise notably covers:

• Literary and artistic property – copyright and related rights (protection strategies for creative works, evidence, contractual clauses, rights enforcement and management, audits);

• Trademark and design law (protection and filing strategies, defense of rights or practices, portfolio management, prior art searches, and risk analysis);

• Digital law (digital contracts and projects, databases, software rights including development and exploitation, software disputes, networks, etc.);

• Advertising and commercial communications;

• Data management, personal data, and GDPR compliance.

He has also developed strong experience in expert investigations and evidentiary measures, particularly in cases involving unfair competition and parasitic practices.

Jérémie also represents clients in litigation to defend their interests before courts, during judicial expert assessments, and through alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation.

He is listed with the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) as a partner for the “Prédiagnostic PI” and “Pass PI” programs.

In parallel, he teaches in his fields of expertise at the University of Lille (Master’s in Law) and SKEMA Business School (Master’s in Business Contracts, PGE track).
